Recipe:
Ingredient Notes:
- Chicken. You can use this marinade to bake a variety of chicken parts, including thighs, drumsticks, whole legs, and wings. Another option is boneless thigh fillets. In this case, the cooking time will be shorter.
Variation. You can also prepare this dish with rabbit legs. This is also a delicious combination. - Oranges. It is best to use sweet varieties. If you only have sour ones, increase the amount of sugar slightly to balance the flavor.
- Rosemary. In this case, both fresh and dried rosemary work well. However, the aroma of fresh rosemary is certainly brighter and richer. If using dried rosemary, add one heaping teaspoon.
- Soy sauce. Regular soy sauce is used by default. For a deeper color and more intense umami flavor, replace one tablespoon of regular soy sauce with dark soy sauce.
- Sugar. Use regular white granulated sugar.
- Garlic. Fresh garlic is best in this case.
Let’s start cooking!
Squeeze the juice from one orange. Mix it with soy sauce, sugar, minced garlic, and salt.
Slice the second orange and place the slices in an ovenproof dish with the chicken. Add the rosemary sprigs. Pour in the sauce.
Place the dish in an oven preheated to 200°C (390°F) and cook for about 45 to 50 minutes. Baste the chicken thighs occasionally with the sauce from the dish.
Serve.
Enjoy!
Hey Tatyana, do you think this method would work for turkey as well?
Hey Helena,
Yes, this recipe will absolutely work with turkey! I recommend using boneless turkey thigh fillets, cut into medium-sized pieces for the best results.
